You do the books. You chase the invoices, sort the pay run, answer the phone and keep the whole thing from falling over. Then someone calls you "the one who helps out."
You care about this business as much as your partner does. You want it to make real money. You just never got shown how to run the back end properly. Most of us didn't. We worked it out the hard way.
WHO WE ARE
We're Sam and Steph.
We're mothers and we work. We've been stretched in every direction at once, so we get it. Sam has run the back end of PSM, a field service business, with her husband Dave for 22 years. She built the money and systems side from scratch because nobody was coming to do it for her.
Steph came up through banking and real estate. She knows what banks look for, and what it takes to look after yourself while the business takes everything.
We're not here because we studied this. We're here because we've been sitting where you are, and because between us we notice different things.
